While planning the trip, founder Jason Old and his friends from Florida and California kept asking the same questions: <em data-start=\"929\" data-end=\"1089\">Should we bring our surfboards or rent quality ones there? What are the best surf spots, and how do we reach them? Can we find accommodations near the breaks?<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1294\">Despite hours of research, reliable, up-to-date information on local surf shops, rental availability, or surf-friendly lodging proved difficult to find. To be safe, they packed their own boards and gear.<\/p><p data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1628\">When they arrived in Bocas del Toro\u2014a stunning Caribbean archipelago\u2014they discovered a vibrant local surf scene: shops with quality boards, water taxis ready to reach remote breaks, and photographers capturing the perfect ride.
