Safety Guidelines

Waverii (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a digital platform that connects traveling surfers (“Guests”) with local surf service providers (“Hosts”) around the world. Our mission is to foster a global community built on mutual respect, cultural exchange, and shared passion for surfing.

These Safety Guidelines form an integral part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and are designed to help protect everyone in the Waverii community. By accessing or using the Waverii platform, you agree to comply with these guidelines and acknowledge your responsibilities as a user.

1. Personal Responsibility & Risk

Your safety is your sole responsibility. Surfing and related activities inherently carry risks, including but not limited to physical injury, property loss, or emotional distress.
If you feel unsafe, suspicious, or uncomfortable at any time, you are encouraged to disengage immediately.

Disclaimer: Waverii does not verify or guarantee the character, behavior, or intentions of any user. We are not responsible for your decisions or the outcomes of your interactions.

2. Use of the Waverii Platform for Communication

All communications between Guests and Hosts must occur through Waverii’s secure messaging platform. This helps:

  • Safeguard your personal data
  • Maintain a record in case of disputes or misconduct
  • Promote transparency and accountability

Do not exchange phone numbers, emails, or social media information outside of the platform unless absolutely necessary and only after establishing mutual trust.

3. User Profiles & Community Reviews

Before booking a session, thoroughly review the other user’s profile, including:

  • Biography
  • Profile photo(s)
  • Ratings and reviews by the community

Important: While Waverii facilitates verification processes and reviews, we do not independently confirm the accuracy of user-submitted information. Profiles and reviews are user-generated content and may not reflect the true identity, qualifications, or behavior of individuals.

4. Choose Public, Well-Known Surf Locations for First Meetings

Initial meetups between Guests and Hosts must take place in public, high-traffic surf spots. Avoid secluded or unfamiliar areas until a trusted relationship has been formed.

5. Share Your Plans with a Trusted Contact

Before meeting anyone, inform a friend or family member of your plans. Share:

  • The name of the person you are meeting
  • Location and time of the session
  • Expected return time

We recommend using location-sharing apps to enhance safety during meetups.

6. Payment & Service Agreements

Waverii does not process or facilitate payments. All financial transactions and service agreements must be arranged directly between Guests and Hosts.

We strongly recommend confirming the following in writing through Waverii messaging before any in-person meeting:

  • Session price and payment method
  • Scope of services (e.g., board rental, coaching, guided session)
  • Time and location of the session

Payment Disclaimer: Waverii is not a party to any transaction between users. We are not liable for payment disputes, chargebacks, refunds, fraudulent activity, or financial loss. All such matters are the sole responsibility of the involved parties.

7. Reporting Unsafe or Inappropriate Behavior

If you encounter behavior that is:

Report it immediately using our in-app reporting tools or by contacting Waverii Support. We investigate reports promptly and reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban users for violations.

8. Respect for People, Cultures, & the Environment

Surfing is more than a sport—it’s a culture. As a member of the Waverii community, you are expected to act with courtesy, cultural awareness, and environmental responsibility. Please be mindful of:

  • Local customs and traditions
  • Surf etiquette (e.g., right of way, lineup order)
  • Environmental protection (e.g., avoid littering, follow beach rules)

Repeated disrespectful behavior may result in account suspension or removal.

9. Legal Notice & Liability Disclaimer

Waverii is a Neutral Digital Platform

We do not provide surf instruction, guided tours, or travel planning. We are not a surf school, travel agency, or employer of any users. We facilitate introductions between independent individuals.

By using Waverii, you agree and acknowledge that:

If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Waverii platform.
