Waverii and UN SDGs
Waverii and UN SDGs
Disclaimer: Waverii is an independent entity and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the United Nations. References to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are for informational purposes only. Our efforts are intended to support the aims of the SDGs through local partnerships, community-based initiatives, and responsible business practices.
Waverii’s efforts to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) fall into two broad categories: education and economic empowerment, and environmental conservation and sustainability. While many of our contributions are indirect or facilitated through local partnerships, we strive to align our operations with the spirit and intent of the SDGs wherever possible.

Goal-by-Goal Overview of Waverii’s Contributions
SDG 1: No Poverty
Waverii’s circular economic model—which emphasizes local ownership and equitable distribution of resources—aims to increase economic opportunities for coastal entrepreneurs by connecting them directly with traveling surf enthusiasts via our marketplace platform. By bypassing corporate intermediaries, local service providers retain a greater share of earnings, helping foster inclusive, community-driven economic growth.
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being
As a surf-centered platform, Waverii encourages physical activity and outdoor engagement, both of which are beneficial to physical and mental health. Through community events and partnerships, we also promote overall wellness within surf communities.
SDG 4: Quality Education
Waverii plans to develop and support educational programs—including scholarships, internships, and mentorships—for local youth pursuing careers in the surf and coastal tourism industries. We also aim to collaborate with nonprofit organizations to promote ocean literacy, wellness, and environmental education.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
We are committed to advancing gender equity in surf communities. Waverii supports initiatives that empower women and girls through surfing and entrepreneurship. Our platform will offer special incentives, such as favorable commission rates and tailored business support, for women-owned surf-related businesses.
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
Waverii seeks to partner with community organizations to promote environmental hygiene and clean water initiatives. These may include beach clean-ups, waste management awareness campaigns, and support for access to sanitation infrastructure in coastal areas.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
By providing transparent, platform-based access to surf tourism opportunities, Waverii enables fairer economic participation for local entrepreneurs. A portion of our platform’s revenue is reinvested into the community via programs aligned with economic empowerment and sustainability.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
We aim to promote innovation within the surf industry by encouraging the use of sustainable products (such as eco-friendly surfboards and wetsuits) and supporting small businesses that prioritize green technologies and local production.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
Waverii strives to be inclusive and accessible. We aim to ensure equal opportunity across our platform regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, ability, religion, or sexual orientation. We will explore offering subsidized participation for underserved communities.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Waverii encourages responsible travel, supports local cultural heritage, and fosters sustainable community development in coastal towns by facilitating tourism that benefits residents rather than displaces them.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Through educational resources, Waverii promotes sustainable tourism practices. We encourage our users to choose eco-conscious accommodations, support local businesses, and reduce waste during their travel experiences.
SDG 13: Climate Action
Waverii will explore partnerships with organizations working on climate resilience, particularly those addressing the effects of climate change on coastal communities. We intend to support habitat restoration efforts and raise awareness of ecosystem vulnerabilities such as coral reef bleaching and mangrove degradation.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Our model is inherently collaborative. Waverii is committed to forging alliances with NGOs, local nonprofits, and sustainability-driven businesses to strengthen our collective impact. These partnerships help us support the achievement of other SDGs by building local capacity and resilience.
