A home away from home where you mingle with like-minded travellers and experience the Namib desert. Life at Salty Jackal follows the wind, waves and tides and we love to share our local knowledge and love for Namibia with our guests.
If you are looking for a private accommodation for a larger group, check out the Salty Villa.
Salty Jackal Surf camp is located in central Swakopmund which not only has dozens of surf spots in the immediate area for all conditions and surf levels, but the town is also pretty, clean and safe, has a lot of good bars, cafes, restaurants and modern supermarkets. It's possible to get around on foot or by bicycle. Being Namibia's adventure hub, there are also many non-surf activities to chose from for all budgets and tastes - from skydiving and sandboarding to eco-tours into the desert, fishing and many more.
We are Olli and Iris, a Namibian and an Italian who call Swakopmund home. Our passion for surfing and our love for beautiful Namibia inspired us to almost 10 years ago to start Salty Jackal. Olli loves the barrels of Skeleton Bay, while Iris prefers more mellow waves on larger boards. Our mission is to bring people to Namibia to experience the quality uncrowded waves (for all levels!) in some of the most breathtaking scenery of the Namib Desert. Surfing in Namibia and exploring the rest of the country with it's vast open spaces, wildlife and diverse cultures is a magical experience that will stay etched in you memory.
