About Me:
- 30+ years surfing and guiding along the California coast
- Director & Surf Coach: Pleasure Point Surf Club
- Wilderness First Responder certified
- Wilderness Surfing First Aid instructor
- Former West Coast Director, Surfers Medical Association (2016–2018)
- Deep local knowledge of conditions, tides, and surf zones
- Bonus: I’m also a published surf photographer and may snap a few shots if the moment’s right — no pressure
Note: Best if you can provide your own wetsuit. If you don't have a surfboard, I can provide that for you. we will need to see which type of board is best for you.
1. Beach Meet-Up & Safety Talk (30 min)
We’ll meet at the beach to go over conditions, local surf etiquette, gear, and safety. I’ll help you get prepped and comfortable before we paddle out.
2. Guided Surf Session (1–2 hrs)
I’ll lead you to the right spot for your level and offer in-water guidance as needed. I’ll help you read the waves, position yourself, and stay safe — whether you're catching green waves or working on your takeoff.
3. Post-Session Debrief (30 min)
After changing, we’ll review the session, answer any questions, and talk tips for progression or future sessions.

March 15, 2026 at 3:51 pmI spent a Saturday morning with Michael, he took me to view multiple breaks in and around Santa Cruz and his knowledge of the area and focus on safety were tremendously evident. Also a real cool dude with lots of interests like photography, I will be using Michael’s services again!
