Self-taught from day one, Taka reached the world’s elite within just six years of starting surf—including three years of dedicated focus—and has sustained his position as a top global competitor for over eight years.
His competition achievements include an ISA World Longboard Championship silver medal as well as world titles in both Shortboard and Longboard SUP surfing.
Driven by relentless trial and error, Taka has accumulated deep technical knowledge across virtually every type of craft. From shortboards, longboards, SUPs, and mid-lengths—to literally riding traditional Japanese fusuma (paper slide doors) on ocean waves—his ability to master any surface is unmatched.
