Safety notes

Always check weather, wind, tide, and wave conditions before entering the water.
Never surf alone; inform someone before you go surfing.
Respect your limits and choose waves suitable for your level.
Warm up properly and use appropriate equipment (leash, suitable board, wetsuit).
Be aware of currents, rocks, reefs, and marine life.
Follow surf etiquette: respect priority and keep a safe distance from others.
If you feel tired or uncomfortable, exit the water immediately.
In case of emergency, stay calm, signal for help, and follow lifeguard instructions.

Good to Know

Why Longboarders Love Imsouane
📍 The Bay (“Magic Bay” / La Baie)
Longest waves in Africa – the right-hand point break can ride for 600 – 800 m (sometimes even longer).
Gentle, rolling waves: perfect for longboards, nose riding, practicing cross-stepping, and improving your timing'
Great for beginners to intermediate surfers — easy take-offs and waves that keep going.
The bay is especially good at low to mid tide with a swell of ~1 m or more.
Tip: Because the wave keeps wrapping along the beach, you don’t have to paddle back out far — you can actually walk back from where the last section ends.

From a very young age, the ocean and sports have played a central role in my life. I first developed my skills in swimming before practicing other disciplines such as basketball and volleyball. But it was in the water that I found my true calling, which led me to become a certified swim instructor and teach for two years at a well-regarded private school.

My passion for the ocean then led me to explore a wide range of water sports, including surfing, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, bodyboarding, and kayaking. Through extensive training with UCPA, I was able to refine my techniques and gain strong experience in these disciplines. For over ten years, I also worked each summer as a lifeguard, developing a strong sense of responsibility along with valuable safety and emergency response skills.

Surfing quickly became much more than a sport—it became a true passion and a way of life. For over fifteen years, I have dedicated myself to both practicing and teaching it, sharing my knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm with students from around the world. As an instructor, my mission is to guide each surfer through their learning journey, teach the technical foundations, and share that unique, free, and deeply personal connection with the ocean.
