Jacó is one of Costa Rica’s most vibrant beach towns, located just 90 minutes from San José on the country’s central Pacific coast. Known for its consistent waves, warm water, and relaxed surf culture, Jacó is a perfect base for surfers of all levels as well as families looking for adventure and nature.
The nearby beach of Playa Hermosa is famous for its powerful surf and has hosted multiple international surf competitions. Just minutes away, Jacó’s beach offers more forgiving waves that are ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers.
Beyond the surf, the area is surrounded by lush rainforest, wildlife, and incredible outdoor experiences. Visitors can explore nearby waterfalls, go ziplining through the jungle, take ATV tours into the mountains, or spot monkeys and scarlet macaws in nearby Carara National Park.
Jacó also has one of the best restaurant scenes on the Pacific coast, with a mix of locally owned cafés, fresh seafood spots, and international cuisine. The town is walkable, lively, and welcoming, making it easy for travelers, couples, and families to enjoy both the beach and local culture.

$357 per day, minimum 3 days
This week-long experience includes daily surf sessions plus unforgettable local adventures for you and your family. No one is left out of the fun on this experience.

Good to Know
Whether you would like to join me for a week long excursion, or simply chase waves for the day my goal is to make the most of your time in the water here in Costa Rica. I will explain how different local breaks work with changing tides, swell, and wind direction, and will accompany you in the water to assist with positioning and reading the wave.
My week long package includes me as your guide, accommodations for six nights at an ocean front hotel, transportation, daily surf missions, an ATV Adventure, and an afternoon massage from a local masseuse.
A great way to progress is by watching yourself surf. If you are interested I can add on a professional photographer to this package who will document the session. As an added bonus I will help you edit the footage to share with your family and friends!
