About the Area
Oceanic Expeditions launches from the Popoyo / El Astillero area along Nicaragua’s central Pacific coast, one of the country’s most consistent surf regions. Nearby breaks include Lances Left, Chacocente, Playgrounds, and Manzanillo, many of which are best accessed by boat.
The surrounding waters also offer excellent fishing for tuna, mahi-mahi, snapper, roosterfish, and seasonal billfish. The coastline features remote beaches and rugged scenery that are difficult to reach by land.
Trips to San Juan del Sur, about 1.5 hours south, are also available for travelers looking to explore the area.
